Near by age 240 the country has been populated by the Alemanni.
In the 11. to 12. Century the nobility family "von Custordingen" reined over the land.
The first registered note about Kusterdingen is from 1120. The Layman Marktwart
gives his property in Kusterdingen like a present to the convent of Blaubeuren.
In 1275 the parochial of Kusterdingen is registered in the diocese of Constance.
From 1484 Kusterdingen belongs completely to Württemberg.
In 1519 they are informing about wine growing.
The beginning of school is in 1559.
When the emperor in 1628 put up his soldiers at Kusterdingen, the little village not either have been spared from the Thirty Years' War.
In 1631 Kusterdingen has been loot from emperors' soldiers. 4 years later the plague raged in Kusterdingen and takes away 207
inhabitants.
The volunteer fire workers have been formed in 1880.
A new school house was built between 1886 and 1887 in the Kirchentellinsfurter
Street, since 1982 this building is the town hall.
The freshwater system with pump station in the valley of the river Neckar was
terminated in 1911, the start of construction of the sewerage system has been in 1924.
In the Night of bombing (15. /16. March 1944) 860 British Bombers jettison their
cargo overboard over Kusterdingen, 144 properties (100 houses) have been
destroyed.
Gerhard Kindler was elected in 1958 to the mayor.
In 1955 starts the construction of the 25 m height, water tower on the highest place of
the boundary, the capacity is 400 cbm.
The water pipeline from the lake of Constance was built over Kusterdingens'
boundary in 1958.
In 1965 was inaugurated, nearest by the water tower, the school center August-Lämmle-Schule, with an indoor swimming pool, gym and festival hall.
In 1970 starts the Reform of municipalities: Kusterdingen should have been united with Kirchentellinsfurt and Wannweil.
Kusterdingen comes out of the closet on to belong to the county of Tübingen.
1972, Kusterdingen together with Kirchentellinsfurt and Wannweil have been ready for
a unity commune. The only condition has been the affiliation to the county of
Tübingen. Wannweil decline, so Kusterdingen got autonomy of
decision.
1974 Kusterdingen had have 3.000 inhabitants.
Jettenburg got united with Kusterdingen voluntary and 1975 by operation of law was formed a unity
commune: Kusterdingen-Jettenburg with Immenhausen, Mähringen and Wankheim. Immenhausen, Mähringen
and Wankheim complained at the German state court of justice. The state court
declined the claim of the communities.
Mayor Kindler died 1978 surprised. As his successor has been elected Günter Müller.
The Inauguration of the first part of the school centers' Extension has been in 1981.
The old schoolhouse has been transformed to the town hall in 1982.
The old town hall is under monumental protection and has been restored in 2000.
In the old schoolhouse the community installed a public youth library, a meeting point
for old people and a common room.
In 1996 was inaugurated the second Extension of the school
center.
2002 after 24 years in office, Mayor Müller retired. But before, he informs the biggest club in town, the sports club TSV, about the
approbation of the construction of the new sport hall. The old one in the school center
since decades has been overloaded.
